THE STORY

IT ALL STARTED IN 2015 WHEN THE FOUNDER, COLLIN MCKENNA, MOVED FROM COLORADO TO HAWAII BY HIMSELF AT 16 TO STUDY ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES.

He learned about the benefits of regenerative agriculture and knew from that point on that he would start a business that would support this amazing farming process.

AFTER GRADUATING WITH A BUSINESS DEGREE, HE SET OUT TO START THE FIRST REGENERATIVE ORGANIC BEVERAGE COMPANY, WHICH SLOWLY MORPHED INTO LIXIR.

LIXIR was born after hearing about this honey based alcohol (AKA Mead- the oldest known alcohol) that was being brewed and enjoyed by his hippie friends in Hawaii and Colorado. They were talking about the health and environmental benefits of using humanely sourced honey along with how great the buzz was. After not being able to find it anywhere in Southern California, aside from a specialty wine shop, it hit him.

He moved away from creating regenerative organic cold press juices and dove into the idea of creating a honey based alcohol that would be widely available so people can experience this refreshing/unique beverage while feeling better about what they drank and even better the next day.

He partnered up with a meadery in San Diego and began working with them to innovate the way that mead was made with the goal of creating a zero sugar, low calorie, delicious beverage that everyone would enjoy. After two years and countless renditions, LIXIR was ready to hit the shelves.

FUTURE

WE AIM TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT BEE HEALTH BY USING ONLY ETHICALLY SOURCED HONEY AND PROVIDING THOSE FARMERS WITH ONE PERCENT OF OUR REVENUE TO FURTHER SUPPORT THE BEES AND ULTIMATELY THE PLANET.

WE SOURCE OUR HONEY FROM A RAINFOREST / BEE PRESERVE IN BRAZIL

(the second largest rainforest behind the amazon. The rainforest provides a significant source of oxygen and life to the planet and is reliant on the health of these bees.

With each can sold, we aim to support the farmers that are doing the hard work day in and day out. By not only supporting them through our honey usage, but also giving them a portion of our revenue, they will be able to further grow the bee farms, better support their families, and keep helping the planet.
