LIXIR is Hard Honey—a modern take on mead, the world's oldest alcoholic beverage.
We start with regenerative organic honey and naturally ferment it into alcohol, creating a crisp, light-bodied spritz that's refreshing, easy to drink, and unlike anything else on the shelf. Instead of using malt liquor or low-quality spirits as the alcohol base, every can begins with real raw honey.
Each can contains just 100 calories, 5g of sugar (naturally from honey), is gluten-free, and made with simple, real ingredients. The result is a clean, refreshing drink that brings an ancient ingredient into the modern world.

THE STORY
born out of necessity.
After becoming beer intolerant, founder Collin McKenna grew frustrated with the lack of refreshing, high-quality alternatives. As a longtime fan of honey, mead, and regenerative agriculture, he wondered: What if we modernized the world's oldest alcoholic beverage?
The first versions of LIXIR were made in the kitchen of his now-wife and co-founder, Amanda, using a SodaStream and high ABV mead. What started as a simple experiment quickly became an obsession. Partnering with an award-winning meadery and leading beverage R&D experts, those early recipes evolved into the modern Hard Honey spritz you can enjoy today—crafted with organic honey and real ingredients.
LIXIR is more than a drink. It's our way of creating something better for everyone while helping build demand for sustainably sourced honey and supporting the future of bees, beekeepers, and the land they depend on.

LIXIR exists to create demand for one of the world's most important ingredients—honey. By sourcing regenerative organic honey, we support the farmers and beekeepers who are restoring ecosystems, protecting pollinators, and proving that agriculture can heal the land instead of depleting it.
Today, we partner with regenerative honey producers in Brazil while helping develop new beekeeping initiatives across Africa. These projects create sustainable livelihoods for local farming communities, expand healthy bee populations, and help regenerate forests through natural pollination. Every can of LIXIR is another step toward making regenerative honey more valuable than extractive land use.
Our vision extends far beyond beverages. We want to help build a future where regenerative beekeeping becomes a global force for environmental restoration—from protecting rainforests abroad to strengthening pollinator health here in the United States.
